Insurance is a necessity in our society. It is something you need for nearly everything in your life. There is insurance for Cars, homes, boats, electronics, and most importantly your life. Insurance provides a safety net for the unknown and unexpected things in life. Although it is legally required for some things it is a need. With insurance it is great to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it. Monthly premiums and the occasional deductible are worth it when you compare it to what insurance covers. Insurance is important to me because of the peace of mind it provides. I’ll start with my car insurance. I own a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria and although it is an old police car I have full coverage insurance for the car. I think it is worth it because if all of the benefits it provides. I am covered for things like under and uninsured drivers, roadside assistance, and collisions. It provides the peace of mind that if for some reason I am involved in an accident and my car is damaged my insurance will fix my car, put me in a rental, and pursue the other driver instead of me being left stranded with all the issues. It gives me confidence on the road and makes me happy overall. When it comes to health I also have great insurance. As a Plumbers Apprentice for the Plumbers Local 130 U.A. I have insurance fit for someone working in a heavy construction trade. My insurance covers injuries suffered on the job, pays for doctor’s visits and check ups, pays for things like new glasses, and even trips to the chiropractor if I need it. This gives me peace of mind because the trade I am involved in presents danger to me daily and can take a toll on my body over time. Medical care can be extremely expensive and adding costs can cause people to stray away from getting help or getting things they need like glasses. Knowing that I am able to go to literally any doctor in any hospital and get the absolute best care possible at no cost to me. Knowing that I have insurance that supports hard working tradesmen makes a hard job a bit easier. Next there is homeowners insurance. This insurance is not really mine but it is my mother’s and it protects the home I live in. When there was a severe storm years ago our insurance policy paid for a new roof and repairs to my house. It can also replace things that get stolen in case of a break in. This is possibly of the most important insurances to have because most people only have one home if something happens it can be devastating. Without insurance you can be left absolutely stuck. It provides some of the greatest peace of mind. Overall insurance is one of the most important things you can have in life and it is important to me because of the peace of mind it creates. Whether it is protecting me, my car, my home or my family knowing that I will be protected no matter what is a great feeling.
